Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of Vacuum Packaging Machines

18 Jun, 2026

Standard operation and regular maintenance are key factors to guarantee long-term stable operation of vacuum packaging machines, reduce downtime and extend equipment service life. Most common machine failures are caused by irregular operation, untimely cleaning and neglected component maintenance. Enterprises need to formulate unified operation specifications and maintenance schedules for frontline operators.

Before startup, operators must complete pre-operation inspections. Firstly, check whether the power supply, air circuit and vacuum pump oil level are normal; insufficient vacuum pump oil will lead to declined air extraction efficiency and loud operating noise. Secondly, inspect the sealing strip and heating strip for damage, deformation or foreign material adhesion, which will directly cause poor sealing and air leakage. Thirdly, confirm the tightness of the chamber sealing rubber ring, as aging rubber rings are the main cause of incomplete vacuum pumping. After inspection, conduct 2-3 times of no-load test runs to debug parameters before formal packaging production.

During formal operation, standardized operating steps must be followed strictly. Operators should neatly place packaging bags with products inside the vacuum chamber, keep bag mouths flat on the heating strip without folding or overlapping, and avoid food residue, oil stains and water drops staying at sealing positions. Overweight products are forbidden to prevent extrusion damage to the chamber body. It is prohibited to open the machine lid forcibly during automatic vacuuming and sealing cycles to avoid circuit damage and personal safety accidents.

Daily maintenance should be finished after each production shift. Firstly, clean residual materials, oil stains and water inside the vacuum chamber and replace dirty sealing sponges regularly. Secondly, check and clean the filter screen of the vacuum pump to prevent dust and debris from entering the pump body and damaging internal components. Thirdly, replenish or replace vacuum pump oil every 500 working hours to keep pumping efficiency stable. Weekly deep maintenance needs to check the aging degree of rubber rings, tighten all fixing bolts and calibrate sealing temperature parameters.

Several common faults can be solved with simple troubleshooting. Incomplete vacuum pumping is mainly caused by aging sealing rings or blocked filter screens; poor sealing effect results from improper heating temperature or dirty heating strips; excessive noise during operation usually relates to insufficient vacuum pump oil. Scientific maintenance can reduce equipment failure rate by over 70% and extend machine service life by 3-4 years. Standardized operation and maintenance not only ensure continuous production efficiency but also guarantee qualified vacuum packaging quality stably.
